Tasting Notes
Much deeper colour than the other vintages of this decade, which are transparent. This is a deeper tawny. Decadent nose of molten orangey fruit, smoky bacon and chocolate; huge ripeness and dimension here – such a change from the generally lighter vintages of this decade. Has a burnished quality. On the palate, concentrated and still tannic with a powerful dark chocolate character: like eating a pain au chocolat. Big wine all round, full of impact, typical of a warm vintage. Impressive in its concentration and depth. — MW Nick Jackson
