Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Classification

Harmony

A hot summer and good September, marred only by some hail.

Tasting Notes

Bright, charming nose of dark fruits and subtle warm spices. At most medium bodied, with good, concentrated, silky fruit with a smoky bacon character. Walks the tightrope of sweetness of fruit and slight savoury bitterness very well – a beautiful tension and classic Amarone. Harmonious, middle of the road style; not unduly demonstrative but with a quiet class and refinement. A good example of the Bertani style. Very successful. — MW Nick Jackson

Master of wine

A vintage which really embodies the Bertani style. There is a sense of harmony about the whole wine which makes such a pleasure to drink.

Style

Harmony

These wines are balanced, classically proportioned, showing grace, equanimity and poise. Usually they show more vibrancy than the gentle wines, but less flamboyance than the exuberant wines. These are closest to the Bertani house style.
