Amarone della Valpolicella Classico

Classification

Finesse

A variable summer but the vintage was made by an excellent end to the season.

Tasting Notes

Classic Italian sour cherry nose: bright and sapid, with liquorice and warm spice notes too. On the palate, chiselled and bright, with beautifully delineated fruit. Fresh and red-fruited but with a dark, mulberry and spice component lingering in the background and on the finish. Deceptively complex, and with another 10 years to go before everything emerges in full bloom. Cool, controlled style of elemental purity and distinction. What a wine! It just keeps on growing in the glass. — MW Nick Jackson
